8MM Musik is proud to present POWERS first release in 7” white vinyl format, featuring the songs Battery and Butcher’s Arms. Berlin based POWERS is the collaborative effort of world class drummer Joe Dilworth (Stereolab, Th’ Faith Healers, Add N to X, PJ Harvey, to name but a few), guitarist Paul Fielding (Boy$, Cops, WG) and Moog player and vocalist Jessica Norman (IAMX). Both tracks were produced by Holger Müller. Holger recently produced the Liars latest offering, Drum’s Not Dead.
These first two tracks provide a glimpse into the range of POWERS live identity, which blazes from a raw Sonic Youth meet Mogwai firestorm to a more melodious flow akin to that of early Stereolab or Slowdive.
Just back from supporting the Brian Jonestown Massacre on their latest European tour, POWERS is now back in the studio finishing off work on their first full length due for release early 2008.
